“How could the soul not take flight
When from the glorious presence
A soft call flows sweet as honey,
comes right up to her
And whispers, ‘Rise up now, come away’.”

- Rumi

Helsinki Chamber Choir performs an online concert with a programme filled with music that celebrates life. Kolme laulua Mawlana Rumin runoihin by Kalevi Aho and How could the soul not take flight by Jonathan Harvey have been composed to texts by Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet. Composer Juha T. Koskinen’s new piece Earth Treasury will have its premiere in the concert. Later in the concert Helsinki Chamber Choir will perform Einojuhani Rautavaara’s Unsere Liebe, a piece about love, the greatest power of life. The concert ends with Francis Poulenc’s expressive Figure humaine that was composed during the Second World War.
